Dr. Mercedes Bunz is Senior Lecturer at the University of Westminster, London, where she teaches Multimedia Journalism and Social Media, and writes about technology, digital media, and the public sphere. Before joining the University of Westminster, she was director of the Hybrid Publishing Lab, Leuphana University, and has been the technology reporter of The Guardian. Her dissertation on the early history of the internet was written at the Bauhaus University Weimar and is published by Kadmos (2008). Her last book “The Silent Revolution. How algorithms change knowledge, work, public and politics without making too much noise” was written with an Impakt Fellowship of the Centre for the Humanities, University of Utrecht, and has been published with Palgrave Macmillan (2014).
