Esther Peeren is Associate Professor of Globalisation Studies at the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Amsterdam and vice-director of The Amsterdam Centre for Globalisation Studies (ACGS, http://acgs.uva.nl/). She is also researcher at the Amsterdam School for Cultural Analysis (ASCA) and the Netherlands Institute for Cultural Analysis (NICA). Her current research focuses on the critical potentials of spectrality and globalization and her recent publications include Intersubjectivities and Popular Culture: Bakhtin and Beyond.
